Method is transforming lives

BHŪTA YOGA

was created to bring authentic Tantrik and Hatha Yoga -- teachings dating back more than 1000 years -- into the modern yoga space.

Our teaching, practice and methodology is based on ancient texts which suggest that liberation of the Soul is possible but that the steps required must be undertaken skillfully & intentionally, with an understanding of the requirements.

Bhūta – भूत

Sanskrit for "element"; refers to the fundamental building blocks of Reality

Yoga – योग

to "yoke" or unite; refers to both the practice & state of unification

PHILOSOPHY & METHODOLOGY

A technique known as Bhūta Śuddhi is highly revered in various Tantrik texts as a method of purification through the 5 Great Elements (the Pañcha Mahābhūtas). It is a body-mind-energy based ritual science that deals with each of the archetypal layers of the individual. This foundational technique, along with traditional teachings from both the Yoga Sutras and Hatha Yoga, inspires the core philosophy and methodology of Bhūta Yoga. Our school relies on the sādhana of inspired individuals to keep the flame of sacred wisdom alive.

Sādhana - साधन

lit. "the way of attainment"; refers to the method of attaining or realizing one's full potential

GRANT IFFLANDER, founder

Grant initially discovered the path of yoga as a method of healing from severe imbalances in his endocrine & nervous system, as well as injuries sustained from aggressive physical fitness. After several years of exploring the physical aspects of yogic practice, he encountered & received transmission of two extraordinary yogis from two distinct paths -- one being an authentic Tantrik lineage and the other of traditional Hatha Yoga. These unique encounters led him into deeper exploration of the actual roots & methods behind these spiritual systems. After more than a decade of diligent study & practice, Grant's inspiration culminated in the inception of Bhūta Yoga
